Back in 1944 Floyd Clymer decided to become more deeply involved in the publishing business. At earlier times in his life he had put together circulars and magazines but he had never done a complete book. His new entry into publishing was a compilation of advertisements and stories stitched together with commentary. He called it a "Scrapbook". Scrapbooks by design are ongoing works and his was no different. With eight separate editions and several spin-off editions they formed the core of his publishing business. Floyd had motor oil in his blood and was attracted to any book that dealt with automobiles or motorcycles. Historians and Journalists have touched on aspects of Clymer's life and a couple very short biographies exist. Here at Floyd Clymer.org we have brought all of the pieces together under one virtual cover. This virtual "Scrapbook" certainly is a work in progress so expect updated files from time to time.
Our scrapbook is laid out by categories related to Floyd's life and experience. We wrote the book on Floyd Clymer. From his birth in Indiana till his death in California we will chronicle his his life's work in the industry he loved so much.
The Floyd Clymer Collection is a gallery of everything known that Floyd published up till his death. Many of the titles listed in the Collection are available from our Online Store. Proceeds from the store go towards further research and compilation of our "Biographical History and Scrapbook of Floyd Clymer 1895 - 1970"
So you can poke around between our virtual covers or navigate page by page to further your knowledge of Motorcycle Hall of Famer , Race Promoter , Record setting Racer, and Publisher Floyd Clymer. The viewing is free courtesy of the internet. Hours upon hours of research has been poured into this project over the last several years and much more is coming in time. We welcome any contributions you may have to our Scrapbook. You can contact us through Ohne Media. Permission to use or link to any of our media content is discussed on the Bibliography page. Thank You and enjoy.
