Floyd Clymer seems to have had an improbable
life, so many records set and broken. I had my first run in with Clymer
after he had died. Working on a Volkswagen and needing a service manual,
it was a Clymer manual. So many people can relate in one way or another
to his work. From boy car salesman to race promoter and many
accomplishments in between. Indian Motorcycle racer to Indian Motorcycle
Company owner. In this "Scrapbook" of a website we will touch on all
these improbable deeds.
History can be elusive and rumors and misinformation abound, but
almost always the truth finds the light of day. In our story you will
see some examples of discrepancy and we cannot clarify everything. But
nothing can deny the accomplishments made by Floyd Clymer. That is the
real story, one of accomplishment. Not of his personal side or his bad
habits. Allow us to introduce you to the man we know.
